CMI Business School’s founder and president, Rafael Garc\u00eda, has published a scientific article on the importance of the evolution of corporate social responsibility in the journal Sustainability<\/i>, indexed in the world’s most significant impact factor listing for scientific journals, the Journal Citation Reports (JCR).<\/p>\nWhat is the article about?<\/h2>\n
The article presents a comparative analysis of the drivers of, and barriers to, corporate social responsibility (CSR) at the European multinational Airbus and at India’s Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. (TASL), taking account of the current picture and of what might reasonably be expected in the near future, and drawing on in-depth research, interviews and surveys on the subject.<\/p>\n
The research set out to support individuals, organisations and academics on the pre-eminent role of internal and external drivers, and on the central importance of morally motivated drivers such as the values held by senior management, among others. The caveat it records is that, depending on cultural factors, individual companies may not yet have reached that state.<\/p>\n

The process behind the hypothesis Garc\u00eda set out rested on a review of the literature, which points to the two principal controversies currently debated among scholars of CSR: the relative weight of internal versus external determinants, and profit-driven versus morally driven motivation.<\/p>\n
