{"id":21527,"date":"2025-12-03T11:07:10","date_gmt":"2025-12-03T10:07:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cmi.es\/cmi-cities-and-sustainability-forum-madrid\/"},"modified":"2025-12-03T11:07:10","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T10:07:10","slug":"cmi-cities-and-sustainability-forum-madrid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cmi.es\/en\/cmi-cities-and-sustainability-forum-madrid\/","title":{"rendered":"CMI takes part in the Cities and Sustainability Forum in Madrid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This first edition featured the Tree Award, given to the best proposals for urban renaturalisation in the country.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>CMI Business School took part<\/strong> in the inter-institutional <strong>Cities and Sustainability Forum<\/strong>, <strong>held at the IFEMA exhibition centre<\/strong>, whose purpose was to <strong>open a conversation about the future of the country&#8217;s urban and natural spaces<\/strong>, creating places that respect both people and the environment.<\/p>\n<p>The forum highlighted the <strong>importance of sustainability and corporate responsibility for urban planning, for renaturalising spaces, for the responsible use of public space, for green mobility, social innovation, the circular economy, and reducing the impact on air quality and climate change.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Present at the meeting were companies with proposals for clean energy, photovoltaic solar power and the installation of solar panels as sound renewable options, connecting with companies whose efforts centre on managing waste properly in their local areas. The exhibition hall included fully electric refuse collection and recycling lorries.<\/p>\n<p>The event featured the <strong>first edition of the Tree Award, given to the best proposals for urban renaturalisation across Spain&#8217;s regions. It went to Salamanca City Council for its \u201cSAVIA\u201d project<\/strong>, a proposal contributing to the protection of biodiversity, to sustainable tourism and to action towards the Sustainable Development Goals, creating more habitable ecosystems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the academic and educational side, the importance of teaching values from the earliest years was underlined, with responsibility and sustainability understood as a matter for every individual<\/strong> and as something that can be practised in everyday life. <strong>CMI Business School therefore brings these values and principles into all its programmes<\/strong>, giving students and the professionals of the future the tools and knowledge to meet these challenges with greener initiatives.
