{"id":21618,"date":"2025-12-03T11:07:51","date_gmt":"2025-12-03T10:07:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cmi.es\/cmi-presents-mba-sustainable-tourism-fitur-2024\/"},"modified":"2025-12-03T11:07:51","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T10:07:51","slug":"cmi-presents-mba-sustainable-tourism-fitur-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cmi.es\/en\/cmi-presents-mba-sustainable-tourism-fitur-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"CMI Business School presents the MBA in Sustainable Tourism at IFEMA Fitur 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Niels Olsen<\/strong>, Ecuador&#8217;s Minister of Tourism, and Nilsa M\u00e1rmol, vice-president and co-founder of <strong>CMI Business School<\/strong>, met at IFEMA during Fitur 2024 with the aim of moving the tourism industry towards <strong>more ethical practice, more respectful<\/strong> of the environment.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting featured the presentation of <strong>CMI Business School&#8217;s MBA in Sustainable Tourism<\/strong>, a programme designed to train leaders committed to the sustainable development of tourism in <strong>Ecuador, Latin America and beyond<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The programme sets out to give professionals in the sector the tools and knowledge to advance a tourism that benefits local communities economically while protecting nations&#8217; natural and cultural resources.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting between CMI Business School&#8217;s representative and Ecuador&#8217;s Minister of Tourism marks an important step towards meeting the United Nations <strong>Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong>, particularly SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), <strong>SDG 12<\/strong> (responsible consumption and production) and <strong>SDG 17<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why tourism matters<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Tourism<\/strong> is one of <strong>Ecuador&#8217;s principal sources of income<\/strong>, with a great diversity of natural ecosystems and a cultural richness that draws visitors from across the world.
