FITUR 2025<\/strong>, the most important international tourism trade fair in Spain<\/strong>, was held in Madrid<\/strong> from 22 to 26 January 2025. The fair brought together tourism professionals from all over the world: companies, destinations, institutions and organisations connected with the sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlights of FITUR 2025:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Record figures:<\/strong> FITUR 2025 exceeded expectations with close to 255,000 visitors, cementing its leading position in the tourism sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Innovation and technology:<\/strong> The fair stood out for the new technologies and innovative solutions presented for the tourism industry, among them mobile applications, booking platforms and destination management tools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainability:<\/strong> Sustainability was a central theme at FITUR 2025, with the presentation of tourism initiatives and projects that are sustainable and responsible towards the environment and local communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessible tourism:<\/strong> FITUR 2025 promoted accessible and inclusive tourism, showcasing proposals and services adapted to people with disabilities and reduced mobility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internationalisation:<\/strong> The fair drew broad international participation, allowing professionals in the sector to make contacts and find business opportunities across the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CMI Business School’s directors, Dr Rafael Garc\u00eda, Eng., and Nilsa M\u00e1rmol, played a prominent part in the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) 2025. Over the course of the event they built valuable relationships with representatives of a number of countries, including productive meetings with the Dominican Republic’s Minister of Public Administration and with leading figures in the tourism industry such as Frank Rainieri, president of Grupo Puntacana \u2014 owner of Punta Cana airport \u2014 and Samuel Pereyra, chief executive of Banreserva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an exchange of ideas about the trends reshaping the tourism sector, the crucial role of artificial intelligence<\/strong> (AI) in improving communication with customers and suppliers came to the fore. Also highlighted were the potential of cloud computing<\/strong> to democratise access to computing power, and generative AI<\/strong>, which is transforming how the sector communicates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CMI Business School’s directors also had the chance to explore what Brazil, this year’s guest country at FITUR, has to offer. Alongside the richness of Brazilian food and culture, they noted the country’s commitment to sustainability<\/strong>, evidenced by a 50% reduction in deforestation in the Amazon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dominican Republic, for its part, presented an ambitious five-year plan for sustainable gastronomic tourism<\/strong> led by the well-known chef Saverio Stasi, a sign of the country’s focus on responsible<\/strong> and diversified tourism<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
