{"id":21710,"date":"2025-12-03T11:06:27","date_gmt":"2025-12-03T10:06:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cmi.es\/cmi-presents-masters-certificates-2018-2020-cohorts\/"},"modified":"2025-12-03T11:06:27","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T10:06:27","slug":"cmi-presents-masters-certificates-2018-2020-cohorts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cmi.es\/en\/cmi-presents-masters-certificates-2018-2020-cohorts\/","title":{"rendered":"CMI presents master&#8217;s certificates to the 2018\u20132020 cohorts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Read on for the highlights of the day and pictures of our students, at a ceremony that was unusual \u2014 given the COVID-19 precautions in place \u2014 but no less moving for it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday 19 November, CMI Business School presented master&#8217;s certificates to the 2018\u20132020 cohorts, in what proved a memorable day for the institute, a few metres from the Retiro park in Madrid.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cWe would love to invite you to a graduation ceremony where, as well as presenting your master&#8217;s certificates, we could share a happy moment with teaching staff and families and give each of you the recognition you deserve. But given the present situation, which everyone knows about, a gathering of that kind is not possible, and we are very sorry for it\u201d<\/i> \u2014 so the school put it when calling students to the event, referring to the COVID-19 measures ordered by the authorities which, among other things, meant that friends, family and teaching staff, so often part of these celebrations, could not attend.<\/p>\n<p>Even so, the school&#8217;s leadership said cheerfully: \u201cit is a real joy to look you in the eye again and imagine your smiles\u201d, given how little of the face a mask leaves visible \u2014 and masks were compulsory throughout the event.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony was opened by Nilsa M\u00e1rmol, deputy director and co-founder of CMI, who began by offering \u201cmy most sincere thanks\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cIt is a great honour for us to have you all here today (\u2026) seeing your faces makes me feel at home (\u2026) because I am very fond of every one of you, I hold you all in great affection, and you are part of our family. We are a family because we share the same purpose, the same passion for doing things well, for leaving that positive mark on society and on nature\u201d<\/i>, M\u00e1rmol told those present.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cI am enormously grateful to all of you, and especially to the first cohort of 2018, who trusted us without any testimonials from those who had gone before. You trusted blindly in a programme of study that caught your attention and that you took a chance on, and we will be eternally grateful for it.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Without passing over how exceptional the occasion was \u2014 masks on every face, and greetings with a hand on the heart to avoid physical contact \u2014 the deputy director said she hoped that <i>\u201chowever unusual this moment may be, we hope you enjoy it and that it is something you can look back on fondly\u201d.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Certificates were then presented individually, at the required safe distance, to each graduate of the following master&#8217;s programmes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cmi.es\/en\/master\/master-in-csr-and-sustainability\/\">Master&#8217;s in CSR and Sustainability<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cmi.es\/en\/master\/sustainable-finance\/\">Master&#8217;s in Sustainable Finance Management<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cmi.es\/en\/master\/responsible-mba-master-in-business-administration-and-management\/\">Responsible MBA<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cmi.es\/en\/master\/master-in-responsible-marketing-and-international-trade-management\/\">Master&#8217;s in Responsible Marketing and International Trade Management<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cmi.es\/en\/master\/master-in-human-management-and-organizational-development\/\">Master&#8217;s in Human Management and Organizational Development<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the ceremony, special recognition went to Mar\u00eda L\u00f3pez Fern\u00e1ndez-Pacheco, a graduate of the Responsible MBA, who received a distinction and singled out the work of CMI&#8217;s teaching staff. <i>\u201cAbove all I want to thank the team of professors who were with us through the programme, because I think it has served us well to have that global view of running a company, with corporate social responsibility as a thread running through the way we take decisions, define projects and draw up strategic plans.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Eduardo Villegas was the second graduate to be awarded a distinction, for the best average mark across every cohort on his programme, the Responsible MBA. After a few words of thanks, Villegas gave a short and encouraging speech to those present.<\/p>\n<p>Towards the end of the gathering, with every graduate holding their certificate, CMI&#8217;s founding president, Rafael Garc\u00eda, gave the closing address.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cNever stop believing in yourselves (\u2026) if you give it everything and commit to it, you will achieve whatever you set out to do \u2014 never forget that. You have the raised awareness of people of integrity and responsibility (\u2026) and those values, and that strength, will take you a very long way.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>He also reminded them that they would stay in touch through the <a href=\"https:\/\/cmi.es\/en\/alumni\/\">Alumni Club<\/a>, a space for human and professional cooperation, exclusive to graduates, which offers access to relevant, up-to-date material on CSR, a place in a wide professional network, and advice and guidance in looking for work.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cWhatever you need, we will always be entirely at your disposal.
