The DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) is our most distinguished programme of executive specialisation, created for leaders, consultants and senior managers who intend to reshape global business practice through rigorous research. Delivered in international partnership with JUNIA Grande École d’Ingénieurs (Université Catholique de Lille, France), it brings the frontier of scientific and technological knowledge to bear on the real problems of senior management.

Where a traditional doctorate is oriented towards theory, the DBA is built around applied research: developing innovative solutions and advanced management models that make a measurable difference inside organisations. Program details

The programme is intended for senior executives, strategic consultants, business owners and academics who hold an official Master’s degree (or its equivalent) together with a well-established professional record, and who are seeking the highest academic distinction while generating original knowledge in the field of business.

The DBA sets out to develop the next generation of global leaders and strategic thinkers, equipping them to carry out independent scientific research that widens the boundaries of business administration and advances ethical, sustainable management.

Specific objectives:

  • Develop advanced research capability: master the qualitative and quantitative research methodologies used in the business sciences in order to diagnose complex management challenges.
  • Generate original, innovative knowledge: design and carry through doctoral research projects that offer both theoretical and practical value to the international business community.
  • Lead technological and digital transformation: assess and embed emerging exponential and industrial technologies within corporate governance and operating strategies.
  • Advance sustainability and conscious capitalism: build new management and decision-making frameworks grounded in ethics, social responsibility and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Establish a senior consulting profile: sharpen the critical analysis and crisis-resolution skills that organisations require at both macro and microeconomic level.

The doctorate is structured around research seminars and the supervised development of the doctoral thesis, covering the following critical areas:

  • Area 1: Epistemology and research methodologies in management.
  • Area 2: Technological innovation, digital transformation and advanced industry (JUNIA focus).
  • Area 3: Global strategic management, sustainability and ESG criteria.
  • Area 4: Doctoral seminars on thesis defence and scientific publication.
  • Doctoral thesis: research supervised individually by a committee of international experts.

The programme is overseen by a first-rate international doctoral committee made up of senior executives, global consultants and distinguished academics from CMI and JUNIA Grande École d’Ingénieurs. To guarantee the highest scientific standard and methodological rigour, every member of the teaching staff and every thesis supervisor holds a doctorate (PhD or DBA), with a substantial record in indexed research, patents and the strategic direction of international organisations.

Methodology and teaching innovation

The DBA follows an executive format that combines intensive advanced seminars, one-to-one research supervision through the Virtual Campus, and priority access to the international repositories, patent collections and scientific databases held by CMI and the Université Catholique de Lille.
