His main research lines include: Business Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility, Social Capital, Ethical Leadership, Organisational Behaviour, Science and Technology Parks, Wine Tourism, Crowdfunding and Consumer Satisfaction.
He has published more than 37 research articles, 26 of which are indexed in the Social Science Citation Index or Scopus, and 19 of these with JCR impact factor in the Social Science Citation Index. He is co-author of 2 books and 12 research book chapters. Additionally, he has contributed 78 conference papers and presentations, 46 of which were international.
Several publications focus on Social Capital, exploring its links with inter-organisational relationships, Science and Technology Parks, and intra-organisational social capital (internal social capital within firms and work teams). Another group of publications centres on Ethical Leadership, Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics, analysing the influence of servant leadership, ethical leadership, ethical culture and formal ethical mechanisms (codes of ethics, ethics training systems, performance evaluation systems focused on ethics) on attitudinal and organisational behaviour variables (job satisfaction, ethical behaviour, organisational citizenship behaviour).
He has also researched the role of high moral quality leadership styles (Servant Leadership) on outcomes at firm, group and individual levels, such as innovation capability, group social capital and employees’ personal social capital. Finally, he has published research on Wine Tourism, Crowdfunding and Consumer Satisfaction.
He has been Principal Investigator of one competitive internal research project at the University of Castilla-La Mancha and collaborator in more than 11 competitive projects at national and regional levels. He has also participated as non-principal researcher in four contracts with companies and institutions and as collaborator in three internal research projects at the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
He has been Visiting Scholar at several research centres and universities, including the University of Valencia, Bentley University (Massachusetts, USA), the University of Arizona (USA), IESE Business School (Barcelona Campus), Alliant International University (San Diego Campus, USA), the University of Sonora (Hermosillo Campus, Mexico) and the University of Edinburgh (Scotland).
He has been a member of organising and scientific committees of various academic conferences, including the XIX ACEDE Conference (Toledo, 2009), the VIII Workshop of the Business Strategy Section of ACEDE (Albacete, 2016), the VI Workshop of the Entrepreneurship Section of ACEDE (Albacete, 2017), and the X ACEDEDOT OMTech Workshop of the Operations and Technology Management Section of ACEDE (Albacete, 2019). He also served as President of the XXV National EBEN Spain Conference (Cuenca, 2017).
He has taught in several postgraduate programmes at his home university, both official (Master’s Degree in Business Strategy and Marketing) and non-official (Ibero-American Postgraduate Programme in CSR; Master’s in Environmental Law and Sustainability; Master’s in Prevention and Treatment of Domestic Violence; Specialist Course in Tourism Management; Master’s in Building and Digital Home; Specialist Course in New Technologies Applied to the Legal-Business Field). He has also delivered postgraduate teaching at other universities, including multiple editions of a postgraduate course at the University of Zaragoza for directors of social service organisations (Specialisation Diploma in Management of Social Resources and Services).
He has supervised one doctoral thesis (awarded “Outstanding Cum Laude”) and numerous Master’s Theses within the official Master’s Degree in Business Strategy and Marketing at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. He has co-directed six specialised courses in Business Ethics and CSR for the Santander Bank CSR Chair at the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
He has been a member of the inCore Research Group (Innovation, Competitiveness and Networks) since 2012. He is also a Doctor Member of IECO – Institute for Ethics in Communication and Organizations – and belongs to scientific associations such as ACEDE and EBEN. His doctoral thesis received First Prize in the IV Edition of the Forética-MSD Award for Research in Business Ethics (2 December 2009).
