Professional Experience
Santiago Gutiérrez Broncano obtained his PhD in Business Organisation from Universidad San Pablo CEU-Madrid (2003), an MDD in Business Administration and Management from IADE–Autonomous University of Madrid (2005), and a Degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Alcalá de Henares (1998).
He is currently Associate Professor (Profesor Contratado Doctor) in Business Organisation at the Department of Business Administration of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Faculty of Social Sciences (Talavera). Prior to joining UCLM, he taught at Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid) and at the Catholic University of Ávila, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Business Organisation, including subjects such as Business Economics, Human Resource Management and Strategic Management.
Since 2000, he has collaborated with universities in different countries, including Universidad Católica de Santiago del Estero (Argentina), South Bank University (United Kingdom), Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Colombia), Universidad Sergio Arboleda (Colombia) and Universidade do Minho (Portugal). He has delivered executive training programmes for managers and regularly collaborates with business institutions and organisations.
His current research focuses on enhancing business competitiveness through strategies such as internationalisation, corporate reputation, total quality management, high-performance HR practices and family business management. He has published in high-impact journals such as Frontiers in Psychology, Total Quality Management and Business Excellence, Business Research Quarterly and Universia Business Review, as well as book chapters with publishers such as Springer, Dykinson and IGI Global. His research achievements include the award of a six-year research recognition period (sexenio). In 2010, he received a runner-up award (Accésit) from the Centro de Estudios Financieros for his research in Human Resources. He has supervised more than 12 doctoral theses.
He is a member of several academic associations, including the Spanish Scientific Association of Business Economics and Management (ACEDE) and the International Medical Geology Association. He also serves as reviewer for national and international journals in the field of business management and human resource management.
