Our business school received recognition from Corresponsables for its contribution to CSR, at an event attended by more than 700 people which brought together 35 organisations — from multinationals to small businesses, public bodies and specialists — at Endesa’s corporate headquarters.

The fifteenth edition of the Corresponsables Yearbook took place on Wednesday 26 February, where CMI Business School received recognition for its work in training leaders with a focus on CSR, a key element running through all its programmes.

Rafael García and Nilsa Mármol, CMI’s directors, received the award from Marcos González himself, president and publisher of Corresponsables, its foundation and the Responsible Communication Observatory (ObservaRSE).

The master’s programmes and courses for which CMI was recognised — before executives from companies including Paradores, Carrefour, Enaire, Seur, Carburos Metálicos, EDP, Endesa, Lilly and Novartis — can be seen here.

How the day unfolded

The event set out to debate “Alliances and dialogue with stakeholders: lessons learned and future challenges”, drawing on reflections from a range of business leaders, and was sponsored by Endesa and Spain’s Ministry of Labour, Migration and Social Security. The Madrid Corresponsables day opened with the first public appearance by Maravillas Espín, the government’s new Director-General for CSR.

“Reviving the State Council for Corporate Social Responsibility (CERSE) to advance the 2030 Agenda is a unique opportunity to fight for human rights on the basis of equity and equality (…) The government is committed to designing public policy that revitalises companies’ CSR,” said Espín as she opened the event.

After the analyses of the current state of CSR — which trended online, reaching a record 13.4 million people and more than 1,900 interactions — two thematic workshops were held under the auspices of ObservaRSE: “Putting alliances into practice” and “Alliances for inclusion and diversity at work”.

Given the success of this first Madrid edition, the event will be held during 2020 in Barcelona, Burgos, Seville, Murcia, A Coruña, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
