Official qualification | 100% online master's degree
  • The Master's in Access to the Legal Profession immerses you in a legal education aimed squarely at professional practice. Over the course of the programme you will work on litigation, legal advice and legal management across different specialisms, from a current standpoint connected to what the profession actually requires.
  • The programme is also designed to prepare you to pass the official examination for admission to practice as an advocate or court agent. It is not only about acquiring theory: it trains you to face a decisive assessment in your career with confidence, strengthening the competences, the legal reasoning and the practical judgement that the examination demands.
  • The purpose of this master's is to help you build a legal profile that is assured, competent and equal to the challenges of practice today. To that end it combines a flexible, multidisciplinary method with learning experiences that strengthen your capacity for analysis, strategy and adaptation in a legal environment that never stops changing.

Why study this master's?

  • Pass the entry examination This master's prepares you to pass the official entry examination, building your confidence, your key competences and your ability to face a decisive test.
  • A practical, current legal education Gain solid grounding in litigation, legal advice and procedural practice across the main branches of the courts.
  • Work placements in legal settings Complete compulsory placements in law firms, advisory practices, in-house legal departments or institutions connected to the practice of law.
  • Flexibility and expert support Study at your own pace on a master's that adapts to your needs, with continuous support from professionals in the legal sector.

Who is it for?

On completing the master's you will have the practical, specialist preparation that opens the main career paths it leads to — from practising as an advocate or court agent to advisory roles in a range of fields.
  • Practising as an advocate or court agent: Develop the competences to work independently or in a firm, take on court representation, and offer specialist legal advice to companies and to individuals.
  • Entering the legal branches of the public service: Prepare for the competitive examinations that lead to the judiciary, the public prosecution service, the notarial profession, the State Legal Service, the court registry, or nationally qualified posts in local government.
  • Acting in litigation and alternative dispute resolution: Act in court proceedings and build the skills to work in mediation, arbitration and other alternative routes to resolving disputes, increasingly sought after in legal practice.
  • Mastering legal communication, spoken and written: Refine your ability to draft legal documents, build sound arguments, negotiate effectively and express yourself clearly before clients, courts and other parties.
  • Understanding the social role of law: Examine the legal system as the instrument that regulates how we live together, and develop a critical view of its social, ethical and human effects in everyday life.
  • Aplicar estrategia procesal y trabajo interdisciplinar: Apply procedural technique across the different branches of the courts, work in multidisciplinary teams, and uphold values such as social responsibility, professional ethics and commitment to the SDGs.

Methodology

  • Up-to-date content We provide all the material you will need — content written by specialists in each field, fully up to date and connected to how business actually works.
  • Hands-on learning
  • Forty per cent of the mark for each subject comes from applied projects, through our Learning Route and 360º Exploration — UTAMED's innovative teaching model.
  • Evaluaciones parciales UTAMED's mid-term exams offer continuous assessment that is formative and motivating. They let you measure your progress, reduce stress and practise with real papers. If you pass the mid-term, the final exam covers only the second half.
  • Online learning You can attend live classes — one hour per subject per week. They are not compulsory, and the recording is available at any time. There is also a video library to help you work through the syllabus.
  • One-to-one mentoring You can reach your lecturer directly and quickly whenever you need to, with no intermediaries and no barriers, to clear up questions and get guidance of your own.
  • Independent study guide You will have the support of your lecturer and your adviser, and a planning tool to help you organise and manage your work efficiently.
  • Practical simulations You will have access to practical workshops on the professional software you will use in your working life, so that you arrive ready for the real thing.
  • Recursos complementarios We concentrate on the specific skills the job market will ask of you, and on personal and social skills (the Core Programme).

Entry requirements

Students with university studies
  • Admission to the master's requires a Spanish law degree (Licenciado or Graduado en Derecho), or another equivalent university qualification attesting to the necessary legal competences.
  • Graduates of foreign universities must have their qualification formally recognised as equivalent to the Spanish law degree before the master's begins. Conditional enrolment is not permitted for Spanish students with the final-year project and up to 9 ECTS still outstanding.
  • A declaration of equivalence to bachelor's level is not sufficient: formal recognition as the specific law qualification is expressly required.
