Aligned with the European VSME and ESRS standards, the report captures two years of educational, social and environmental impact from an institution with a global outlook.

Madrid, 28 September 2026 — CMI Higher Education presents its 2024-2025 Sustainability Report, available for the first time in both Spanish and English. The bilingual edition mirrors the nature of CMI’s own community: a higher education institution with two campuses in Spain and a presence in the Dominican Republic through CMI República Dominicana, in Santo Domingo, students from almost 50 countries and a special connection to Ibero-America. Publishing it in both languages is more than a formality: it is a way of being accountable to every stakeholder in the language through which they engage with the institution.

A report built to European-standard rigour

The report is grounded in EFRAG’s voluntary European VSME standard and maps its contents to 9 of the 12 ESRS standards, selected through a double materiality matrix that weighs the impact of CMI’s activities against the priorities of its stakeholders. The result organises the institution’s sustainability strategy around six reporting themes, from educational impact and access to education to internationalisation, responsible leadership, governance and environmental performance, placing CMI in the same reporting language used today by Europe’s most demanding organisations on ESG matters.

People, access and an international outlook at the core

Behind the technical framework are concrete facts. CMI runs a scholarship programme covering up to 60% of tuition fees for students with outstanding academic records, people with disabilities and candidates from developing countries, as part of an inclusion policy that runs through the whole institution. Its student community brings together people of 46 nationalities, and women make up 50% of the total workforce and half of its governing body.

That commitment is also reflected in its affiliations and certifications: CMI has been a signatory of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) since 2020 and, during this period, has held the ISO 9001, ISO 21001, B Corp and EFR (family-responsible organisation) certifications, progressing in the latter to the Proactive B category. CMI was also recognised as Europe Top Business School 2025 by Education Insider (USA).

A sustained environmental commitment

On the environmental side, CMI has been a carbon-negative organisation since 2017, with a model of sustainable operations, circular economy and waste-prevention practices, and a reforestation programme sustained throughout these years. The report sets out these lines of work with indicators and connects them to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Looking ahead

The 2024-2025 Sustainability Report consolidates two years of work and sets the starting point for continuing to raise the institution’s level of transparency and accountability in the years to come.

“This report reflects who we are: an international institution that believes higher education should shape conscious leaders and generate real, positive impact in society. Publishing it in both Spanish and English was, for us, a matter of consistency with our global community.”

— Dr Rafael García Martín, Eng., MBA, President and Founder of CMI Higher Education.

The report is openly available on the CMI Higher Education website, in its Spanish and English editions.
