CMI Business School took part in the second edition of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Owners (MEE). This time our business school was represented as a speaker by the lecturer and researcher Verónica Medaura.
The event took place online on Saturday 26 September. It brought together entrepreneurs and specialists in project management who told the stories of their own transformations, in order to inspire and encourage others.
Medaura holds a PhD in the management of international organisations from the University of Valencia. She specialises in the responsible management of organisations, taking a global, systemic approach grounded in the complexity sciences. At the meeting, organised by Emprende SDQ, she spoke about the creation, mission and running of ETHOSYA, the non-profit organisation she directs in the United States.
“Our aim is to encourage and generate triple-impact initiatives — that is, initiatives producing social, economic and environmental change, as the traditional studies describe. But we want to go further, producing a proposal that goes beyond that by bringing young people and social and governmental actors into the debate. We believe in a triple impact with organic, systemic and structural improvement”, explained Medaura, who also advises on new economies, triple-impact companies and the circular economy.
She also spoke about the alliance and shared purpose with CMI: “At ETHOSYA, as at CMI, we work so that the economic impact of companies moves towards a transformation in which corporate social responsibility stops being a strategy and becomes the organisation’s culture. That is what we are striving for.”
This talk and the other presentations that made up the MEE can be watched on Emprende SDQ’s YouTube channel — a company which, after three editions in the Caribbean, held its first in Madrid in March 2020, with CMI’s director and co-founder Nilsa Mármol taking part.
