Guided by a vision of sustainability and business ethics, CMI Business School has just launched the first edition of its MBA in Sustainable Tourism, designed to equip professionals to lead the tourism sector towards a more responsible and sustainable model.
Tourism is one of the largest and fastest-growing industries in the world, generating employment and economic development in many countries. It also faces environmental challenges, however: the overexploitation of natural resources, greenhouse gas emissions and a negative impact on local communities.
According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), tourism accounts for roughly 8% of global CO₂ emissions, and without sustainable management that figure could rise.
