CMI has received recognition from the School of Tourism at the Universidad Dominicana O&M for its contribution to the professional development of the tourism sector’s future practitioners.
In August, the School of Tourism at the Universidad Dominicana O&M, Puerto Plata campus, gave an award to CMI Business School’s founders and leaders, Rafael García Martín and Nilsa Mármol Paulino, for their contribution to professional development and for the perspective they bring on corporate social responsibility and sustainability to the tourism sector’s future practitioners.
The event took place at the Dominican university, where CMI’s representatives gave the seminar “Sustainability, entrepreneurship and innovation: keys to running companies of positive impact”.
Students at the School of Tourism had the chance to share and debate the principal challenges and opportunities in sustainability, innovation and management with integrity that the tourism sector currently faces.
At CMI Business School, part of what drives our teaching lies precisely in building awareness, in debating and in sharing contributions and experience around subjects central to CSR. The responsible, sustainable management of tourism companies and projects is one of the great subjects at the centre of the global debate.
The award was presented by Milagros Castaño, general academic coordinator; Arlene Dorville, coordinator of the School of Tourism; and Daniel Suero, coordinator of the degree in Marketing.
At CMI we are enormously pleased and grateful for the opportunity the School of Tourism at the Universidad Dominicana has given us. We hope this is only the beginning of continuing collaboration on education in sustainable entrepreneurship and responsible tourism.
