According to a recent PwC study, almost 80% of business leaders believe purpose is essential to a business’s success today. Fewer than half of employees, however, know what their organisation stands for and what sets it apart from the rest.
Building a CSR strategy has become a priority if an organisation is to have a clear purpose in its DNA and put it into practice, and so strengthen relationships with employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. The United Nations Environment Programme’s 2019 Emissions Gap Report also noted that global carbon emissions need to fall by 7.6% by the end of this year, and to keep falling by the same proportion every year over the coming decade, if global warming is to be held below 1.5 °C by the end of the century.
