El Caribe, one of the Dominican Republic’s most significant newspapers, interviewed the directors of CMI Business School through the journalist Eliana Ledesma, highlighting the school’s contributions to the most vulnerable communities, its focus on corporate social responsibility and its plans to keep improving what it offers in the short and medium term.
Nilsa Mármol, CMI’s deputy director, told the paper how her love of the business world began at a very early age, taking her first into research and later into business — which in turn led her to join forces with the institution’s director and president, Rafael García, combining a shared passion for understanding the human background to business and companies.
“That is why we focus on education, which is of course one of the pillars of a nation working properly, and on training within the business sector — considering that the world is evolving towards the awakening of conscious human beings, towards peace and harmony,” they explained.
The directors emphasised the progress the school has made, including strategic alliances with other companies and the training given to executives at multinationals such as McDonald’s and the insurer Mapfre, at Spanish public and private institutions, and at a number of NGOs, among others.
They also told the paper that they plan to open a base in the Dominican Republic, given the large proportion of Dominicans who have trained with them as responsible businesspeople. They recalled that the school has a substantial scholarship programme, that a 50% discount was applied to the country as an emerging economy, and that its scholarship agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT) is now in its second consecutive year.
